Scottish Highland Cattle
Although there are always plenty of Highlanders on the farm to interact with during tours year-around, many of our adult cattle spend their summers grazing on off-site environmental restoration projects and come home to the farm to pass their winters in comfort. Our cattle live natural, healthy lives. We breed our Scottish Highlanders with a priority on calm temperaments and loving personalities. Our cattle are never used for meat production, and we ensure that any animals sold go to loving homes.
Environmental Restoration
We believe in keeping nature as pristine as possible. Our restoration projects help return ecosystems to a better state, prior to being altered by human activities. The Scottish Highlanders benefit the natural environment in many ways, including the reduction of invasive plant species and improvement of habitat for the endangered bog turtle. For more information on the bog turtle and our Scottish Highlanders’ environmental impact, have a look at the video below and also check out this documentary about the Scottish Highland Cattle’s environmental impact.
