Elk Ravine Farm Intro
This Is: Elk Ravine Farm

Elk Ravine Farm is a real, working farm striving to benefit the environment through our cattle’s grazing programs. When you come for a tour, we are opening our home to share with you the peace, joy, and tranquility we find in caring for and interacting with our animals.

Visit us and learn how our cattle are helping the environment by living long, full, natural lives. Your will also have the take a relaxing horse-drawn carriage ride through our beautiful countryside and meet the other animals on the farm.

Elk Ravine Farm is not a child-oriented petting zoo. Children must be able to listen well and follow directions in order to participate. We reserve the right to limit certain activities to maintain the safety of all participants.

Dogs are not allowed on the farm. Although your furry companion may love to meet farm animals, the farm animals (moms and babies especially) don’t like to meet them and can become very stressed.

For our New York City guests, transportation may be available to and from the Wassiac Train Station on weekdays only. For more details, please mention your transportation needs when booking.

Please check out the reviews from our guests on Google.

2-Hour Farm Tour

Join us for a 2-hour farm tour where you’ll be able to meet the Scottish Highlanders and have hands-on experiences with furry Scottish Highland calves, including plenty of petting, brushing, and “cow cuddles.” We encourage photos, so you can keep and share your memories of this one-of-a-kind experience. Among the cattle you will meet is “Charlie,” the farm's main social media presence (click to see him on Instagram with some of his Scottish Highland friends). You will also take a carriage or sleigh ride.

Engage with the animals as you learn about their needs and gain an understanding of what it takes to care for them. We believe in education through adventure. Being on a real, working farm is an important experience for everyone!

The tour price is $250 for groups of 1 to 4 people. A $100 deposit is required to reserve your date and time, with the remaining balance due at the time of your tour. The deposit is non-refundable, but will be reserved and applied to your rescheduled tour if we receive notice of your cancellation at least 48 hours in advance.

Gift Certificate purchases are final and non-refundable.

For groups larger than 4 people, there is an additional $50 charge per person.

A waiver is also required for each member of the tour party. Please download and bring a completed copy of the waiver with you to your tour:

What to Bring

Please come wearing clothing and sturdy footwear that is appropriate for the weather and that you don’t mind getting dirty.

For your safety, open-toed shoes are not permitted during tours.

The tour is primarily outdoors, and you will be up-close and personal with the animals. Be prepared for a bit of affectionate slobber and hair!

We also recommend a change of footwear so you don’t have to worry about keeping your vehicle clean and to minimize any “farm smell” for your ride home.
